Who Runs the World?

I love this romper for the end of summertime. Even though it doesn't seem that the weather is cooling off anytime soon, I have found myself in full fall mode already. It's ironic, because when I lived in Ohio I never wanted summer to end. Now that I know that winter isn't following autumn, I can't wait for it! I'm so excited to wear cardigans, boots, scarves, you name it. Plus, if I'm wearing sweaters then that means my babies will be too. (And they lovvvee their sweaters.) I just love to bundle up for the fall fashion season, especially when I don't have freezing weather coming along with it!

Since the weather is still in the high 80's/low 90's in SoCal, I'm forced to integrate autumn pieces one at a time into my daily outfits. Long cardigans are definitely one of my favorite ways to accessorize a bit of fall into my style. Since they're flowy and open, it allows me to still feel covered up without feeling overly warm. Plus, if you get over heated just tie it around your waist and pretend like you're Beyonce for the day. (Wouldn't you be doing that anyways?)

These booties have been my obsession lately. I was on the hunt for a pair of Timberland looking flat booties when I stumbled upon these at TJ Maxx. They're super comfy, and the heel gives a little bit of extra oomph to the duo. Plus, I love the look of them! I may need to still grab a flat pair, as well.

Tulled & Studded

Nothing makes me feel super girly like a flowing, tulle skirt and a good pair of stilettos. I've had my eye on a pair of these for a while after seeing that literally everybody has a pair, so when I saw that Tobi was having a sale recently I finally decided to snatch some up. I love the nude and red color combo, and pairing these with my tulle skirt made me feel utterly Bradshaw.

Crop Top: Marshall's | Tulle Skirt: PB&J Boutique | Pumps: Tobi | Sunglasses: Windsor

P.S. Please excuse my leopard print bra that seems to sneak its way through all of my shirts. A girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do. And it's part of my Carrie look, right? :)

Ready For Fall

Remember when I said that I've been obsessed with dresses this summer? Well the trend continues with this one. I purchased this textured tank dress a couple of years ago thinking it would work for one of our engagement activities. While it obviously wasn't appropriate for something of that nature, it works great underneath layers for a casual outfit during the work week. I paired it with a pinstriped button-up from H&M, a plaid scarf, and last year's favorite booties since I'm already in the fall mindset.

If you know me, you know that while I love a good shopping trip and do have quite the addiction to shoes and jewelry, I also am a very cheap person when it comes to my clothing and tend to remix a lot of previous wardrobe favorites in order to get new looks. I'm not a person that will be like, "Oh, I bought that dress last year so it probably won't fit in with my style this year." I'm that girl that thinks, "I bought this skirt my junior year of high school, but I could totally wear it now with those booties I just got from forgetting to cancel my JustFab subscription." (Does anyone else have this issue or is it just me?) This outfit is a great example of that since all of the items featured are at least a year old, minus the fab scarf that I just got for $6 at Forever 21. So, when you're looking for a new outfit or are in the mood to spice up your style but aren't sure what to buy in order to do so, take a look back through some of your old closet favorites and remind yourself why you loved them so much in the past. Sometimes good things come in old packages. :)

Happy weekend!

Denim & Prints

For some reason this summer I have been loving dresses even more than usual. I'm not sure if it's the easiness of them or the girly style, but my closet is becoming more and more full of dresses and I find myself wearing them non-stop during the work week. I picked this one up recently from the always promising sale rack of Target (I do realize how cheapo that sounds), and although I was instantly drawn to the differentiating black and white prints, the $12.49 price tag didn't disappoint either. You gotta love Target.

Blue

When I'm looking for an easy outfit that looks good, I immediately gravitate towards shorts, a tank, and a flowing kimono or cardigan. And let's be honest - I'm looking for easy, comfy outfits about 99% of the time. Okay, maybe all the time.

One of my favorites this summer has been this printed, chiffon cardigan from H&M. I snagged it for only $14.95, and although I feel like it may have been intended to be a swim cover-up, it's easily completes a variety of summertime outfits. Kimonos like this one are great with shorts and a tank, but also look amazing with a fitted or fit and flare dress and quickly make an outfit look stylish with minimal effort. My kind of item.

These glasses have also recently become one of my faves. I purchased them from one of the souvenir stores at the Austin airport and have been wearing them frequently ever since.

Happy Sunday! I hope everyone has a pleasant, relaxing end to the weekend. <3

On The Run

This past weekend Jordan and I attended the On The Run concert to see my idol and her hubby. It was so humid this weekend so I had no idea what to wear. I may be an Ohio girl, but I am no longer used to humidity - hence the big hair in these photos.

Ultimately, I went with these amazing high-waisted palazzo pants that I picked up at Marshall's. They were only $15 and just happened to be available only in my size, but I still debated on them (as I always do) for about 20 minutes before I pulled the trigger. They're a little outrageous and I wasn't sure as to how much wear they would actually get, but I'm so glad now that I made the purchase. They're super comfy and flowy, and the detail at the top of the waist works great with a crop top. These are probably one of my favorite purchases all summer.

And my favorite necklace makes another not so surprising appearance. Told you this thing gets a lot of attention.

We arrived supppperrrr early to the concert as was suggested to us, so we went to the Picnic in the Park held before hand at the Rose Bowl. We ended up spending a ton of money on beer and food, but it was worth it. :) I don't think I've ever done as much people-watching in one place as I did at that Picnic, haha.

Cheers!

And a few of my favorites:
